OUR STORY
We met on the very first day of freshman year at Virginia Tech and quickly became best friends. Abigail developed a crush on Clay almost immediately—and after turning her down twice, Clay finally asked her out over winter break. His idea of a first date was apparently subtle enough that Abigail had to ask, “Wait… this was a date?!”
Since then, we’ve shared countless adventures, moved in together, made it through some hard seasons, and grown stronger in our relationship and faith. Abigail knew Clay was her person when he stood by her through one of the hardest times of her life, never leaving her side.
On September 6, 2026, Clay proposed around a campfire on Deer Island at Philpott Lake. Through lots of tears, shaking hands, and a very easy “yes,” we began the next chapter of our story.
We’re so grateful that God brought us together, and we can’t wait to become husband and wife and spend the rest of our lives growing, loving, and serving Him together.
